On Sept. 17, peace activists from around the state will gather at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville to honor Arkansans who will receive the 2011 OMNI Center Arkansas Peace and Justice Heroes Award.
About the Global Day of Action on Waste and Incineration
Coordinated by the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA) the Global Day of Action against waste and incineration seeks to magnify citizens call for safe and sustainable alternatives to incinerating and landfilling waste to conserve our planet’s diminishing resources, protect human health and the environment from toxic products and processes, provide green jobs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions that causes climate change.
